Telangana HC Takes Suo Motu Cognisance of Unpaid Retirement Benefits
Though Pandurangayya retired in July 2024, he was not paid his retirement benefits by the hovernment even after nine months. He died recently while undergoing treatment for his illness

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court took up a suo motu case on an incident of non-payment of retirement benefits to the late Kurapati Pandurangayya, retired headmaster of the Zilla Parishad Girls High School, Enkoor mandal, Khammam district.
A division bench of the Telangana High Court comprising acting Chief Justice Sujoy Paul and Justice Renuka Yara issued notice to the special chief secretary, finance, the commissioner of school education, and the principal accountant-heneral, directing them to respond to the notices and furnish reasons for non-payment retirement benefits to the deceased.
Though Pandurangayya retired in July 2024, he was not paid his retirement benefits by the hovernment even after nine months. He died recently while undergoing treatment for his illness. News reports mentioned that Pandurangayya was depressed due to several issues, one of them being the non-payment of retirement benefits.
The High Court took up the case by converting a news report about the death of Pandurangayya’s pending retirement amount.
