Telangana HC Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Counsels For Government, Police
The court said that government counsels and prosecutors appearing for the police must come prepared, instead of making excuses and seeking unnecessary adjournments.

Hyderabad: The Telangana High Court on Friday expressed dissatisfaction at the inattentiveness of counsels appearing for the government and the prosecution office while appearing in court. The court said that government counsels and prosecutors appearing for the police must come prepared, instead of making excuses and seeking unnecessary adjournments.
The court has made these comments while dealing with a criminal petition filed by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy seeking to quash a case registered against him at Gachibowli in 2016 on charges of violation of the SC,ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The case related to disputed land measuring six acres and 24 guntas in Gopanpally, Serilingampally. N. Peddiraju complained that Revanth Reddy and his brother had assaulted and threatened him and abused him using casteist slurs.
Expressing shock at the lack of preparedness of counsel representing the police, the judge remarked, “Chief Minister is the petitioner in the matter and look at the preparation. Unthinkable.” The judge adjourned the matter to May 2.
