Telangana Govt to Speed Up Land Monetisation, Replicate Uppal Model in Districts

Hyderabad:The state government has decided to accelerate land monetisation and land pooling processes across the state to enhance state revenues. Officials were directed to identify opportunities for land pooling in additional areas by adopting transparent models similar to the Uppal Bhagayat model.
In this regard, the Cabinet sub-committee on revenue mobilisation held detailed discussions at Secretariat on Saturday on a comprehensive plan prepared by officials to utilise government land assets under HMDA jurisdiction.
Collectors of Rangareddy, Medchal–Malkajgiri, and Yadadri Bhuvanagiri districts were specifically instructed to identify government land parcels and explore the feasibility of land pooling in their respective districts.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, finance minister, directed officials to focus on mobilising additional revenue sources in line with budget requirements and ensure that revenue is generated as per targets to accelerate the state’s financial growth.
At Saturday’s meeting, Bhatti and IT ,inister Duddilla Sridhar Babu conducted a detailed review with officials on exploring additional revenue avenues and the progress of various departments.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhatti emphasised that resource mobilisation should align with the Budget estimates for the financial year 2026–27. He stated that all available revenue sources must be leveraged to achieve budget targets. Officials were instructed to adhere strictly to the predefined timelines (calendar) and work towards enhancing revenue generation. He also called for strong coordination among all government departments to strengthen the State’s financial position.
During the meeting, progress in key revenue-generating departments such as municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD), Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA), industries, excise, mining, revenue, transport, stamps and registration, and commercial taxes was reviewed. Clear guidelines were issued to officials regarding the revenue targets to be achieved in the coming period.
