Telangana Govt Sanctions ₹150 Cr for Medaram Maha Jathara 2026

Funds to be utilized for infrastructure, amenities, and smooth conduct of Asia’s largest tribal congregation in Mulugu district

Warangal: The state government has sanctioned an amount of ₹ 150 crore for the upcoming Asia’s biggest Tribal Fair, the Sammakka and Saralamma Jatara, which is going to be held from January 28 to 31, 2026, at Medaram of Tadvai mandal in Mulugu district. The tribal welfare department sanctioned the funds, which will be used to take up permanent developmental projects and essential infrastructure for the grand event, which is often called the ‘Kumbh Mela of the Telangana.’

The money was allocated for the permanent structures, such as roads, drinking water facilities, electricity, and sanitation, to ensure the Jatara is a grand success. Panchayat raj minister Seethakka (Danasari Anasuya) thanked Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and tribal welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar for sanctioning the funds for the Medaram Jatara.

She said the government’s decision reflects a commitment to the honour of the Adivasi communities and added that this year’s festival (Jatara) is expected to be grander and more historical than ever before.
