Telangana Govt Plans Survey For Indiramma Bima

The sub-committee reviewed modalities for the scheme, introduced to provide social security to every family, and directed that a household-level survey be undertaken to ensure coverage of all eligible beneficiaries.

Hyderabad: The state government has decided to conduct a door-to-door survey for the implementation of the Indiramma Kutumba Jeevitha Bima, which provides `5 lakh life insurance cover to 1.15 crore families, fully funded by the government with no premium payable by beneficiaries.

The decision was taken at a meeting of a Cabinet sub-committee chaired by deputy chief minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka at the Secretariat on Tuesday. Ministers N. Uttam Kumar Reddy, Duddilla Sridhar Babu and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy attended.

The sub-committee reviewed modalities for the scheme, introduced to provide social security to every family, and directed that a household-level survey be undertaken to ensure coverage of all eligible beneficiaries.

Officials were instructed to organise special camps for those left out during the survey and to undertake large-scale awareness programmes on the insurance scheme.

The meeting further directed officials to organise the closing celebrations of the government’s 99-day public outreach programme, Praja Palana – Pragati Pranalika, from June 2 to June 12.

Programmes scheduled during the period include Environment Week celebrations, road safety awareness drives, anti-drug campaigns, women and child protection initiatives, housing and tourism promotion activities, urban development programmes, and foundation stone laying and inauguration of renewable energy projects.

Chief Secretary K. Ramakrishna Rao directed departments to prepare and submit detailed action plans. The meeting was attended by DGP C.V. Anand, Special Chief Secretaries Jayesh Ranjan, Vikas Raj, Navin Mittal, Vani Prasad and Dana Kishore, Principal Secretaries Sandeep Kumar Sultania and Gaurav Uppal, along with other officials.
