Sankranti Holidays Declared for Schools in Telangana from Jan 10 to 16
The government has decided to extend Sankranti holidays up to January 16 and accordingly, all the schools under all managements shall reopen on January 17
Hyderabad: Telangana government has declared holidays for schools from January 10 to 16 on account of Sankranti festival.
In a communication issued to all the Regional Directors of School Education (RIDSE) and District Education Officers (DEOs), the Director of School Education Dr. E Naveen Nicolas said that Sankranti was celebrated on January 15 and Kanuma on January 16. Kanuma is an optional holiday as per the list of holidays declared by the Telangana General Administration Department (GAD).
As January 16 immediately follows the festival, it is decided to extend Sankranti holidays up to January 16 and accordingly, all the schools under all managements shall reopen on January 17.
The Director asked the Regional Directors of School Education (RIDSE) in Hyderabad and Warangal and all the DEOs to take necessary action accordingly.
