Gaddar Telangana Film Awards Jury Chairperson and Veteran actress Jayasudha declared awards

After a prolonged hiatus, the Telangana government has revived the prestigious Gaddar Telangana Film Awards, announcing winners who represent the best in contemporary Telugu cinema.

Superstar Allu Arjun took home the Best Actor award for his powerful portrayal in Pushpa: The Rule, while visionary filmmaker Nag Ashwin was honored as Best Director for his sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD. The Best Actress title went to Nivetha Thomas for her emotional performance in 35 – Chinna Kada Kadu.
“State awards are a big morale booster for actors,” said veteran actress Jayasudha, who chaired the jury. “We thank Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy for bringing back these awards after a 14-year gap. It’s encouraging to see new talents being recognized.”
Jayasudha added that the jury had full autonomy in the selection process. “There were discussions and debates, as expected, but all decisions were made unanimously—a rare and proud achievement,” she noted.

Best Films: Kalki 2898 AD, Pottel, Lucky Bhaskar
Best Film on National Integration & Communal Harmony: Committee Kurrollu
Best Film on Heritage & Environment: Razakar
Best Children’s Film: 35 – Chinna Kada Kadu
Best Wholesome Entertainer: AAY… Mem Friend Andi
S. J. Suryah won Best Supporting Actor for his intense role in Saripoda Sanivaram, while Saranya Pradeep was named Best Supporting Actress for her standout performance in Ambajpet Marriage Band.
In total, 35 awards were announced across various categories. Telangana State Film Development Corporation Chairman Dil Raju confirmed that the awards will be presented at a grand gala event on June 14 at Hitex Grounds, Hyderabad.
