Telangana Governor Performs First Puja at Khairatabad Ganesh Idol
Shivapratap Shukla said he was happy to perform the first puja to the Khairatabad Ganesha
Hyderabad: Telangana Governor Shivapratap Shukla and his wife visited the 69-foot-tall Khairatabad ‘Panchamukha Sankatahara Mahaganapati’ idol and performed the first puja on Monday morning.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar, MP Anil Kumar Yadav, MLA Danam Nagender and the Khairatabad Ganesh festival organisers welcomed the Governor and his wife at the venue. Ponnam Prabhakar, Anil Kumar Yadav and Danam Nagender also participated in the first puja.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Shivapratap Shukla said he was happy to perform the first puja to the Khairatabad Ganesha. He prayed to Lord Mahaganapati for the people of Telangana to lead happy, healthy and long lives and for the prosperity of the state.
Later, the Governor and his wife participated in a special Ganesh puja organised by the Lok Bhavan Youth Association at the Lok Bhavan staff quarters.
Earlier, on the occasion of Vinayaka Chavithi, the Governor and his wife performed the first puja to Lord Ganesha at the main house of Lok Bhavan in the Durbar Hall.
