Telangana Gets Advanced Nursing Simulation Centre, Third Such TNAI Facility in India

New TNAI skill lab will provide hands-on clinical training to nursing students statewide

Hyderabad: An advanced simulation centre for nursing education inaugurated here on Monday is expected to help nursing students strengthen their clinical skills and provide hands-on training. The advanced simulation centre, set up by the Trained Nurses’ Association of India (TNAI)-Telangana at Saroornagar, is the third such skill laboratory in the country after similar centres in Ludhiana and Andaman.

Speaking at the inauguration, director of medical education (academics) Dr K. Shivaram Prasad said simulation-based training would help improve clinical competency among nursing professionals and strengthen the quality of patient care. TGNMC registrar and deputy director, nursing, B. Vidyullatha said the facility would benefit students from all 37 government nursing colleges in Telangana by providing opportunities for practical, simulation-based training.

TNAI president Annie Kumar announced that two expert trainers from the association headquarters would be stationed permanently at the centre to provide structured clinical skills training. She said TNAI Telangana’s membership had grown from nearly 1,000 registered nurses to more than 11,000, apart from 33,972 student nurse members.

According to TNAI, nearly Rs 3 crore has been invested in renovating the Telangana branch building and establishing the simulation facility. The centre has been designed to support competency-based nursing education through advanced simulation technology, enabling students and professionals to improve clinical skills, critical thinking, teamwork, communication and patient safety practices.
