Telangana Formation Day: Hyderabad Celebrates With Honours For Teachers, Officials And Artists

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy honoured five principals and headmasters with awards of excellence for improving admissions, academic performance and student outcomes in government educational institutions.

Hyderabad: A portrait painted with toes for Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla, awards for high-performing educators, recognition for public servants and renewed calls for better civic services marked Telangana State Formation Day celebrations across Hyderabad on Tuesday.

At Lok Bhavan, Vaishnavi, a differently-abled junior assistant with the GHMC, presented Governor Shukla with a portrait she painted using her toes. The Governor and his wife Janaki Shukla felicitated her and presented a memento and cash award, praising her determination and artistic talent.

Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy honoured five principals and headmasters with awards of excellence for improving admissions, academic performance and student outcomes in government educational institutions. The awardees included educators from Kamareddy, Siddipet, Mahabubnagar, Hanamkonda and Manikonda. The Chief Minister described teachers and principals as the architects of Telangana’s future.

He also spoke about the state government’s focus on improving admissions in government institutions, strengthening public education and recognising educators who improved examination results and student outcomes, including performance in the SSC and Eapcet.

At Osmania University, Vice Chancellor Prof. Kumar Molugaram unfurled the National Flag and called for academic excellence and stronger research output. He referred to initiatives such as the Chief Minister’s Non-NET Fellowship and Research Seed Grant while urging the university community to contribute to the state’s progress.

At HMDA headquarters in Ameerpet, joint metropolitan commissioner (general) Kota Sreevatsa paid tributes to Telangana martyrs and urged employees to work towards the state’s development. Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) Commissioner G. Srijana said the corporation would continue focusing on civic services, infrastructure and citizen-centred governance as it completed its first 100 days.

At Nehru Zoological Park, Curator J. Vasantha presented meritorious service awards to animal keepers Shaik Imtiyaz and Shiva for hand-rearing abandoned tiger and lion cubs at the zoo veterinary hospital.

The HYDRAA felicitated officials and staff who received Uttama Seva and Mahonnata Seva honours for work related to disaster response, lake protection and public safety. The HMWS&SB celebrated the occasion at its Khairatabad headquarters, where managing director Ashok Reddy extended greetings to employees and consumers.
