Based on Narsamma’s complaint, Chowdariguda police registered a case under Section 105 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigation is underway.

Hyderabad: A simmering land dispute turned fatal on Monday afternoon when a 50-year-old farmer was allegedly beaten to death by his younger brother at Peerjapur village in Chowdariguda, Rangareddy district.
Police identified the deceased as Middela Venkataiah, a resident of Peerjapur. His daughter-in-law, Meddela Narsamma, 35, lodged a complaint alleging that Venkataiah was assaulted by his younger brother Middela Ramulu and Ramulu’s wife Aruna following a quarrel over agricultural land.
According to the complaint, Narsamma and her co-sister had agreed to purchase 10 guntas each from Ramulu about two years ago. While Narsamma paid an advance of ₹2.60 lakh without registration, her co-sister paid ₹9.70 lakh and secured registration. Narsamma alleged that Ramulu later sold the remaining land to others without informing her.
On December 29, when Narsamma and her husband confronted Ramulu near a toddy shop and sought either a refund or demarcation of land, an argument broke out. Ramulu and Aruna allegedly abused the couple before attacking Venkataiah. Ramulu is said to have repeatedly punched and kicked his brother, dragging him towards his house. Venkataiah collapsed on the road and was declared dead when family members rushed to his aid.
Based on Narsamma’s complaint, Chowdariguda police registered a case under Section 105 read with Section 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Investigation is underway.
