Telangana Excise Cops Seize 225 Liquor Bottles, Arrest Four
The state excise enforcement B team during watch duty at Panka at Borabanda in Ameerpet, arrested the accused while transporting nine NDPL imported 10,000 ml foreign liquor bottles

Hyderabad: Telangana excise cops, in two separate cases, arrested four persons, including two women, and seized 52 foreign made scotch of various brands and 173 non-duty paid liquor (NDPL) bottles from their possession. The state excise enforcement B team during watch duty at Panka at Borabanda in Ameerpet, arrested the accused while transporting nine NDPL imported 10,000 ml foreign liquor bottles.
Prime accused Murthy Yugender was arrested and his two-wheeler was seized. Based on his confession, our teams raided at a Chatwala Shop in Sindhi Colony owned by accused Manish Kumar, and seized another 43 scotch bottles (1000 ml), S. Chandra Shekhar Goud, enforcement inspector, said.
Accused Manish during interrogation revealed that main supplier Sumeet, a resident of Jubilee Hills, had delivered the contraband from RGIA Shamshabad. Along with two-wheeler, the team also seized a car, 52 foreign liquor bottles (airport duty free) and two mobiles used in crime, the inspector added.
The arrested accused along with the seized property were handed over to SHO Ameerpet excise police police for further investigation.
Senior officers, including enforcement director Shahanawaz Qasim, deputy commissioner Anil Kumar Reddy and AES Smitha Soujanya, appreciated the efforts made by the enforcement team.
In a separate case, two women were arrested for violating model code of conduct (MCC) and 173 liquor bottles of various brands were seized from their possession. While on Jubilee Hills by-election duty, the STF team B inspector Biksha Reddy along with SI Balaraju and staff members conducted inspections in various localities of Indiranagar and Borabanda, and caught two women transporting a bag containing 173 IMFL (Indian made foreign liquor) bottles.
The contraband was seized and the arrested women were identified as M. Maria (55) and Y. Easwaramma (59). The duo along with the seized property were handed over to Ameerpet excise police for further investigation.
