Telangana: ED Attaches ₹5.15 Cr Assets of GHMC Official
The ED said its investigation revealed that Mahesh had acquired numerous properties in his name and in the names of his relatives by paying their sale consideration in cash

Hyderabad: The Enforcement Directorate Hyderabad zone has attached 19 immovable properties valued at `5.15 crore belonging to Dacha Janardhan Mahesh, town planning section officer at GHMC-Secunderabad. They constitute plots of land, shops, flats and and residential premises belonging to Mahesh and his family members.
The ED has based its case on an ACB chargesheet, following a raid in April 2016, accusing Mahesh of amassing illegal assets valued at Rs 5.27 crore.
The ED said its investigation revealed that Mahesh had acquired numerous properties in his name and in the names of his relatives by paying their sale consideration in cash. In order to project the properties as untainted, he had transferred cash deposits in his and his family members’ bank accounts, which were subsequently utilised for the purchase of the properties as well as for personal expenditure.
Among the assets belonging to Mahesh was a building project, ‘Shree Indira Sadan’ with the assistance of his cousin K.B. Laxminarayana, partner of Maheshwari Constructions.
