Telangana: Drunk Cop Booked For Assaulting Wife

Adilabad: A police constable, allegedly in an inebriated condition, created a public disturbance late on Sunday night by coming onto the street wearing only his underwear and assaulting his wife in Reddy Colony, Mancherial town.

Neighbours recorded a video of the incident, which later went viral on social media. The constable was identified as Ravi Prasad, who is posted at the Mancherial police station.

The victim, identified as Shirisha, who works with the Gudipeta police battalion on the outskirts of Mancherial, was seen in the video pleading with her husband while holding their infant child, even as he allegedly assaulted her. Shirisha lodged a complaint against her husband following the incident, after which police initiated an investigation. It was also reported that Ravi Prasad did not allow his wife and their three-year-old daughter to enter the house after the incident.
