Telangana: DIG Calls For Technology-Driven Police Investigations

NIZAMABAD: Basar Zone-II Deputy Inspector General of Police R. Bhaskaran on Saturday directed police personnel to use modern technology in investigations and ensure people-friendly policing.
During an inspection of Bodhan police station under the Nizamabad Police Commissionerate, Bhaskaran instructed staff to receive complainants respectfully, listen to their grievances patiently and respond promptly.
He reviewed the implementation of the 5S system and stressed discipline and transparency in police functioning. He also inspected safety equipment, weapons, records and other administrative arrangements at the station.
At the Reception Centre, the DIG reviewed registers, the complaint registration process and services being provided to the public. He also examined records relating to case registration, pending investigations, beat duties and the monitoring of rowdy-sheeters and persons with criminal backgrounds.
Bhaskaran directed officers to prepare a special action plan for pending cases and ensure that investigations were conducted professionally and to a high standard. He said issues involving women, senior citizens and people seeking emergency assistance should be given priority.
He directed officials to conduct cybercrime awareness programmes in schools and colleges and through social media. As Bodhan shares a border with Maharashtra, he also called for increased surveillance on major roads.
On traffic management, the DIG instructed officials to strengthen enforcement at major junctions and conduct road-safety awareness programmes to prevent accidents.
He expressed concern over young people falling into online betting and gaming apps in the hope of making easy money, leaving them vulnerable to cyber fraud and debt. He directed officials to create awareness about the risks associated with online betting and gaming.
Commissioner of police P. Sai Chaitanya, Bodhan ACP P. Srinivas, Bodhan SHO Venkatanarayana, traffic SI Mahesh, Bodhan town SI Habib Khan and other police personnel were present.
