Telangana DGP Denies BJP MP Arvind’s Claim of Being Tailed on CM Reddy’s Brother’s Orders
Arvind said, "As far as I am aware, Telangana Police is accountable to the law and not to any political family."
Hyderabad: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) C V Anand on Tuesday denied allegations by BJP MP Dharmapuri Arvind that a police officer was monitoring his movements on the instructions of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's brother.In a reply to Arvind's post on X, Anand said, "After your post on X, I have taken time and all pains to verify from all concerned what you have alleged, and let me clarify, MP @Arvindharmapuri, that no officer (s) has been put on duty to tail you and watch you. We don't believe in such things and do not adopt such methods. But if you have any more details, please feel free to give them to me personally, and I'll get it verified fully, I assure you"
Earlier, Arvind had claimed that an ACP-rank Telangana Police officer had been tasked with monitoring his movements at the behest of the Chief Minister's brother.
Addressing the DGP, Arvind said, DGP CV Anand, I have known you for decades and have always regarded you as a competent officer. Recently, I have been informed that an ACP-rank officer of the Telangana Police has been tasked with monitoring me and my movements at the behest of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's brother. This raises a serious and fundamental question, does the Telangana Police function under the Constitution and the lawful chain of command, or on instructions from members of the Chief Minister's family?" He added, "As far as I am aware, Telangana Police is accountable to the law and not to any political family.
