Telangana cops will get more police stations, says DGP

DGP Jitender on Friday said that new police stations would be set up for providing quick service to the people.

Hyderabad:DGP Jitender on Friday said that new police stations would be set up for providing quick service to the people. He stated that the department will work to ensure that police stations were accessible to all the people and provide transparent and prompt services.

The DGP was speaking after the ground-breaking ceremony for construction of a police station in Dharoor mandal of Gadwal district. He said the building being built at a cost `2. 65 crore would have state-of-the-art facilities. The DGP also recalled his association with Mahbubnagar district as SP.

Police Housing Corporation chairman Gurunath Reddy, managing director M. Ramesh, Multi Zone-II IGP V. Satyanarayana and district SP T. Srinivasa Rao were present.

Separately at a review meeting, he asked the Gadwal police to prevent the transportation of spurious seeds from other states during the monsoon season. He also directed the district officers to take measures in coordination with the highway authority and the transport department to prevent road accidents.

The DGP inquired into the details of important cases, their progress, steps taken to prevent crimes, challenges faced in maintaining law and order, improvement of police relations with the people.

Instead of taking action after a crime was committed, Jitender said crimes should be prevented with advance information before it happens, rowdy sheets and suspect sheets should be opened against frequent offenders.
