VHP Demands Action Against Riyaz After Nizamabad Cop Murder

Hyderabad: The murder of constable E. Pramod in Nizamabad has elicited outrage from various quarters, with the Vishva Hindu Parishad Telangana prachar pramukh Pagadakula Balaswamy demanding action against the accused Riyaz and compensation to the family member of the police official.

Balaswamy condemned the murder of a police personnel on a public road, calling Riyaz a “demon” whose capture and encounter was critical to restoring faith in law enforcement. He lamented the state government’s inaction and what he called the alarming lapse in police security.

He urged the government to ensure justice by announcing an ex gratia of `2 crore to Pramod’s family and providing government jobs to the bereaved family members. Balaswamy highlighted Pramod’s devotion to duty and described him as a role model for police forces.

Stating that violence needed to be condemned irrespective of the perpetrator’s religion or caste, he called upon society to unite against such brutal acts that threaten public safety and peace. Balaswamy criticised the politics of vote-bank appeasement which he said emboldened criminals at the expense of public security.

The VHP leader appealed for widespread public support to assist the police in capturing the accused, invoking the memory of Pramod’s sacrifice for the rule of law.
