Telangana: CID Clears 1.51 Lakh Cases In Lok Adalat Drive

HYDERABAD: The CID disposed of 1,51,164 compoundable cases during the 3rd National Lok Adalat, a 10‑day intensive settlement drive since Sept. 3 that delivered a major blow to cybercriminals by securing ₹42.29 crore in direct financial refunds for cyber fraud victims.
“It was a highly calculated operational drive across the state. Post‑facto court hearings, the CID scanned pending dockets, filtered eligible compoundable offences, and physically served notices to both parties ahead of schedule. By Sunday we completed the task,” Shikha Goel, DG TGCSB, said.

Officials studied pending files and sorted compoundable cases, including criminal matters and cyber fraud refunds, to provide financial relief through the Lok Adalat. “We decided to dispose of cases on the mutual compromise table after the official sitting. This achievement through Lok Adalat is significant,” Shikha said.
· 62,969 Motor Vehicle Act cases and 61,052 e‑petty cases were cleared across traffic Commissionerate.
· 21,843 FIRs involving compoundable offences were resolved via mutual compromise.
· 1,404 disaster management cases were permanently closed.
· 3,896 cybercrime cases were settled, routing ₹42.29 crore back into victims’ bank accounts.
· Case disposals: 15,944 in Hyderabad, 10,955 in Khammam, 8,499 in Gadwal, 8,404 in Warangal and 8,109 in Malkajgiri.
This joint operation by the Telangana State Legal Services Authority, district judges, commissioners of police and district superintendents mark a shift in Indian law enforcement strategy.
Lok Adalat Resolves Over 4.2 Lakh Cases Across Telangana, Settles Rs 266 Cr
The third National Lok Adalat held across Telangana on Saturday resolved 4,20,626 cases and facilitated compensation amounting to ₹266 crore for litigants. Of the cases settled, 2,78,335 were pre-litigation matters, while 1,40,565 were pending cases. The settlements covered consumer disputes, labour issues, motor accident claims, land acquisition, civil matters and criminal cases.
A total of 342 Lok Adalat benches were constituted statewide, including 340 in district courts, two at the Telangana High Court and two at Hyderabad Debt Recovery Tribunals.
Two special benches at the High Court, supervised by Justice K. Sujana and Justice Nandikonda Narsing Rao, settled 182 pending cases. More than ₹14.81 crore was awarded to motor accident victims. In a major settlement, an insurance company paid ₹5 crore to accident victims.
