Telangana Cabinet to Decide on BC Quota
Official sources said the Cabinet will critically evaluate how many of these decisions have been fully implemented, how many are in progress and which have suffered implementation delays. A key focus will be identifying reasons for non-implementation and examining the role of the bureaucracy in those delays.

Hyderabad: The state Cabinet will meet at the Secretariat today, with several crucial issues on the agenda, most notably the matter of Backward Classes (BC) reservations in the upcoming local body elections. The meeting comes amid a looming deadline set by the Telangana High Court, which has given the government until July 25 to finalise and announce the quantum of BC reservations. The court’s directive has heightened the urgency surrounding the issue.
The Cabinet is also expected to take up a range of other key matters, including the approval of the Indian Stamp (Telangana Amendment) Bill, 2025. The bill proposes a reduction in stamp duties on property registrations, particularly to benefit women. It is also likely to ease the registration process for older apartments, which are currently taxed at the same rate as new properties.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has decided to hold Cabinet meetings twice a month and convene a special Cabinet session every three months to review the implementation of Cabinet decisions. Today’s meeting is expected to focus on assessing the progress of over 327 decisions made in 18 Cabinet meetings since the Congress government assumed office in December 2023.

Another major issue on the agenda is the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam Scheme, launched to provide financial support to unemployed youth for self-employment. Though applications for the scheme were received in April and May, selection of beneficiaries is still pending. The government had promised financial assistance ranging from Rs 50,000 to Rs 4 lakh, and the Cabinet is expected to finalise a disbursal timeline.
