Telangana Cabinet Meeting Postponed to July 28
The State Cabinet meeting, originally scheduled for today, July 25, has been rescheduled to July 28 at 2 PM at the Dr. BR Ambedkar Secretariat in Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: The Cabinet meeting scheduled for Friday was postponed to July 28, as three ministers hailing from the Backward Classes community were in Delhi to participate in the Congress' OBC leaders meeting. The meeting, addressed by AICC leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge, saw the presence of three ministers from Telangana: Ponnam Prabhakar, Konda Surekha and Vakiti Srihari.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy were also in Delhi since Wednesday. They participated in a presentation at the AICC headquarters, showcasing the progress of Telangana’s caste census to Congress MPs from both Houses of Parliament and returned to Hyderabad on Friday evening.
Addressing the media in Delhi after the OBC leaders’ meeting, Prabhakar highlighted the Congress’s commitment to social justice and detailed the process and rationale behind Telangana's caste census. He said the caste census, promised by Rahul Gandhi during the Bharat Jodo Yatra, was undertaken with the objective of addressing systemic inequalities. Despite the delay due to the Lok Sabha elections, Telangana initiated the exercise on February 4, 2024, with due legal and administrative procedures in place, he said.
Prabhakar criticised BJP leaders, particularly Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, accusing them of opposing 42 per cent BC community reservations in Telangana. He also alleged that the BJP was conspiring to stall progressive legislation reservations to the community. Prabhakar said that the Congress remains committed to the empowerment of backward communities and warned that any opposition to the reservation policy would be met with public resistance.
Reiterating the Congress’s secular and inclusive ideology, Prabhakar stated that the party's leadership, especially Rahul Gandhi, has taken a resolute stand to bring social justice to BCs nationwide, starting with Telangana.
