Telangana Zoo Parks Authority has approved the budget proposals for the financial year 2026-27 with a focus on the development of zoo parks in the state, wildlife conservation and improving visitor facilities.

During the 15th meeting of the Telangana Zoo Parks Authority held at the Secretariat on Wednesday, forests and environment minister Konda Surekha reviewed development works in zoo parks, wildlife protection measures, expansion of infrastructure and enhancement of visitor services with forest department officials.

Addressing the meeting, the minister directed officials to develop zoo parks in line with national and international standards. She stressed the need to prioritise animal welfare, cleanliness, greenery and safety standards. She also instructed officials to organise special programmes to create awareness among children and students about wildlife conservation.

She further said strengthening digital facilities in zoo parks, visitor guidance systems, drinking water arrangements, rest centres and sanitation infrastructure. She also directed officials to ensure the availability of modern veterinary facilities for the health and protection of wildlife.

Officials presented the budget details for the financial year 2026-27 during the meeting, which were approved by the Zoo Parks Authority.

Forest department special chief secretary Ahmed Nadeem, principal chief conservator of forests Dr C. Suvarna, wildlife chief Vinay Kumar, senior forest officer Ratnakar Jauhari, CCF Priyanka Varghese, Bhima Naik, zoo director Sunil Hiramath, senior officials and park authorities participated in the meeting.
