Telangana: BRS Alleges Lapses In 2BHK Houses Allocation In Nalgonda

Speaking at a media conference in Nalgonda, he said the previous BRS government had constructed 546 double-bedroom houses at Gollaguda on the outskirts of Nalgonda and selected beneficiaries for 431 houses through a draw in the presence of the public. The remaining houses were allocated to families who lost their homes during road-widening works, he said.

Bhupal Reddy alleged that around 150 families selected as beneficiaries during the BRS government were denied houses in the latest selection. He further alleged that Congress leaders had collected `3 lakh from each beneficiary in return for allotment.

He demanded that the state government cancel the present selection and conduct a fresh draw in the presence of the public.

Referring to roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s statement that he did not own a house in Nalgonda, Bhupal Reddy said he would request the district collector to allot him a double-bedroom house. He also alleged that Mr Venkat Reddy had converted an R&B guest house into his camp office.

Bhupal Reddy alleged that development in Nalgonda had been paralysed under the Congress government and accused it of neglecting projects such as the IT Tower, Tank Bund, Kala Bharathi and development of the ancient temple at Panagal.

He also alleged that AMRUT funds had been misused to lay CC roads in private real estate ventures. The BRS would order a vigilance inquiry into real estate ventures that had come up in violation of rules if it returned to power, he said.

Bhupal Reddy challenged Venkat Reddy to an open debate on the development of Nalgonda during their respective tenures as MLAs.
