Telangana: BJP Alleges ‘Islamisation’ Of Hyderabad

The BJP vowed to stand with affected farmers until they receive fair alternatives and just compensation: Reports

HYDERABAD: The BJP intensified its campaign on Saturday, accusing the Congress and BRS of colluding with AIMIM to “Islamise” Hyderabad for vote‑bank politics, and called for a concerted effort to install a double‑engine government in the state.

Addressing a party workers’ meeting of Secunderabad Mahankali district, attended by Union minister G. Kishan Reddy, state BJP president N. Ramchander Rao alleged that BRS earlier struck tacit understandings with AIMIM to win around Hyderabad and claimed Congress is now similarly under AIMIM’s influence. He said the BJP respects all religions but condemned the use of religion for electoral gains, accusing Congress of treating itself as synonymous with Muslims.

Rao alleged systematic “Islamisation” of the city, claiming some schools compel non‑Muslim students to recite the Kalma, and accused the government of failing to act against illegal constructions linked to AIMIM leaders despite High Court directions. He criticised HYDRAA demolitions of poor people’s homes while allegedly ignoring illegal properties of certain leaders.

Describing the Revanth Reddy administration as “Tughlaq” rule, Rao accused the chief minister of retaining key portfolios, notably home and education, without appointing full ministers, undermining law and order and resulting in murders, assaults and frauds. He said BRS and Congress betrayed the public on employment, the BRS through alleged exam leaks, and Congress by failing to fulfil manifesto promises such as higher wages for mid‑day meal workers and pending fee reimbursements.

He highlighted poor conditions in BC hostels, frequent food‑poisoning incidents, clogged drains during rains, and alleged corruption in water supply and municipal services. Pointing to upcoming Greater Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Malkajgiri elections, he said citizens fear for the city’s future under a tacit BRS‑Congress‑AIMIM nexus.

Claiming surveys put BJP ahead in Telangana, Rao urged cadres to prepare for sustained protests and relentless outreach to unseat the Congress government. He recalled his ties to the Secunderabad–Malkajgiri belt, describing Malkajgiri as his karmabhoomi and Secunderabad as his janmabhoomi, and appealed to local cadres to treat the area as their personal responsibility.

In a separate statement, Rao condemned the arrest of party leaders protesting land seizures in Shamshabad–Bahadurpally, where metro and bullet‑train projects are coming up. He alleged that the government is taking over fertile lands without fair compensation, deploying over 1,000 police personnel and handcuffing protesters. He demanded immediate release of Rangareddy district president Raj Bhupal Goud, district in‑charge Sevvella Mahender and senior leader Tokala Srinivas Reddy.

The BJP vowed to stand with affected farmers until they receive fair alternatives and just compensation.

At the state party office, BJP vice‑president Kasam Venkateswarlu accused Congress and BRS of duping Telangana’s unemployed, lambasting both for broken promises on jobs and university vacancies. He challenged BRS leader K.T. Rama Rao to prove jobs provided during their rule, offering to “bow down” if BJP fails to show recruitment done by the Centre. He vowed sustained protests for youth rights.
