Telangana Assembly Adjourned for the Day

Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar adjourned the House for Tuesday. 

CPI Legislator Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao appealed to the State government to constitute a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe into the murder of CPM leader Samineni Rama Rao. Rama Rao was brutally murdered in his native Patharlapadu village in Madhira constituency of the Khammam district in October 2025. The SIT will help in knowing the cause of the murder and the persons behind it, he said.

MLA Kale Yadaiah made an appeal to the State government to repair the roads that were in pathetic condition in his Chevella Assembly constituency. As a large number of farmhouses and resorts were situated in Chevella, many people thronged these places during weekends in their vehicles.

MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha broke down in the Telangana Legislative Council on Monday. “My fight is for self-respect and not for wealth. I swear by the God I believe in and by my two sons,” K Kavitha said as she hit out at the Congress for spinning false narratives around her saying rift with the BRS.

Secunderabad Cantonment MLA N Sriganesh urged the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to merge the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SEB) with the GHMC for its overall development. He asked the Chief Minister to grant a special package for the development of SCB and requested him to lay special focus on it. He urged the Chief Minister to allocate a special fund of Rs.50 crore every year for the development of SCB.

Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu has clarified that the State government was according highest priority for the welfare of minorities. He said this while responding to a question raised by the MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi in the Assembly during zero hour. Sridhar Babu said he would bring it to the notice of the Minister concerned about the issues raised by Owaisi and ensure that they are resolved at the earliest. 

Minister of women and child welfare Seethakka invited Ministers D Sridhar Babu and Adluri Laxman Kumar, along with their family members, to attend the Sammakka–Saralamma Maha Jatara scheduled to be conducted from January 28 to 31. The Jatara invitation and prasadam were presented to the ministers. Along with Minister Seethakka, Vanadevatha (tribal deity) priests Kaka Venkateshwarlu, Siddaboyina Jagga Rao and Kaka Sammayya met the ministers at the Assembly premises and extended the invitation.

Industries and IT Minister D Sridhar Babu denied the allegations leveled by the BJP MLA Paidi Rakesh Reddy that several Ministers were unavailable at the Secretariat. “You (Rakesh Reddy) can ask you party MLAs whether Ministers are available at the Secretariat,” he said   

BJP MLA Payal Shankar said the GTS brought a uniform tax system in the country and welcomed the Telangana Goods and Services Tax (Amendment) Bill, which was introduced in Telangana Assembly. He advised the MLAs not to politicize Bills introduced either in the State Assembly or Parliament. In case of loopholes, the elected representatives can discuss them in detail in the Assembly or Parliament and resolve them.
