Seethakka Slams BRS For Denial Over Remarks Made Against Speaker
Minister Seethakka lashed out at BRS leaders for making inappropriate remarks against Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and then denying having done so in the Assembly.
HYDERABAD: Minister of Women and Child Welfare of Telangana Dasari Anasuya ( Seethakka) lashed out at BRS leaders on Tuesday for making inappropriate remarks against Telangana Assembly Speaker Gaddam Prasad Kumar and then denying having done so.
Speaking during the second day of the Legislative Assembly Monsoon sessions, she questioned who had pushed former Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, and asked whether Harish Rao intended to "strip in front of women." She demanded to know why they had sought to push women members to the front, and told them, "You should have first sent the women MLAs to a safe place, and only then come forward yourselves."
Seethakka alleged that BRS leaders had manhandled a woman police officer and hurled abuses at her, adding that visual evidence of these incidents exists. She demanded action against the MLAs who assaulted police personnel who were on duty.
Describing the Legislative Assembly as being "like a temple," she said that BRS women leaders needed to introspect, and questioned why the party had expelled Kavitha over remarks concerning Harish Rao, and now the contrasting action with the party's current stance alleging abuse of and ill-treatment of women leaders.
The Assembly proceedings were adjourned within one hour of its commencement, with the BRS leaders led by T Harish Rao creating a furore over the police action against them in front of the Assembly on the first day of the session on Monday.
