General discussion on budget from March 23–26; House likely to sit even on Sundays
Hyderabad: The Telangana government is set to present the state budget in the Assembly on March 20 during the ongoing Budget Session.
According to the schedule discussed, a general debate on the budget and demands for grants will be held from March 23 to 26. On Tuesday and Wednesday, the Assembly will take up a motion thanking the Governor for his address to the joint session of the Legislature.
The government is also considering continuing the Assembly proceedings till March 31. Members from various parties suggested that the House should meet even on Sundays to complete the legislative business. They requested that the session be conducted on all days except on festivals such as Ugadi, Ramzan and Sri Rama Navami.

Telangana Successfully Hosted 72nd Miss World Event: Governor
Hyderabad: Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Telangana, said the state successfully hosted the 72nd edition of the Miss World pageant, highlighting Telangana’s growing global profile.
Addressing the joint session of the State Legislature, the Governor also said the sacred pedestals of Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara have been reconstructed. He noted that the Sammakka-Saralamma Jatara has emerged as one of the largest spiritual festivals in the country, attracting millions of devotees every year.

Telangana Plans ₹1 Lakh Crore Loans for SHGs, 67,763 Jobs Filled: Governor
Hyderabad: Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Telangana, said the state government has drawn up plans to extend loans worth ₹1 lakh crore to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to strengthen women’s economic empowerment.
Addressing the joint session of the State Legislature, the Governor said the government is establishing Young India Schools in all Assembly constituencies and spending about ₹11,000 crore to strengthen healthcare infrastructure across the state.
He said the recently held local body elections were conducted peacefully and congratulated the 1.15 lakh newly elected public representatives. The government has also prepared a 99-day action plan to implement its Prajapalana–Pragati initiatives.
According to the Governor, 64,697 petitions were received through the Prajavani grievance redressal programme, of which 47,670 have already been resolved. He added that a Bill providing 42 per cent reservation for Backward Classes in education and employment has been passed and sent to the Centre for approval.
The Governor said the government has also implemented classification within Scheduled Castes and fixed reservation percentages for three groups. To curb the drug menace, a special team named EAGLE has been formed.
He further noted that recruitment bodies, including Telangana Public Service Commission, have been reformed and a record 67,763 government jobs have been filled in a short span of time.

Govt Spent ₹20,616 Cr on Farm Loan Waiver, ₹8,744 Cr Under Rythu Bharosa: Governor
Hyderabad: Shiv Pratap Shukla, Governor of Telangana, said the state government has extended major financial support to farmers and welfare beneficiaries through several flagship schemes.
Addressing the joint session of the State Legislature, the Governor said ₹8,744 crore was disbursed to farmers under the Rythu Bharosa scheme during the last kharif season. The government has also spent ₹20,616 crore towards farm loan waiver to provide relief to farmers.
He said the government was giving top priority to the irrigation sector to strengthen agriculture in the state. The Governor also noted that 15.12 lakh new ration cards have been issued, while fine rice is being distributed to 3.38 crore beneficiaries across the state.
Highlighting housing initiatives, he said the government has set a target to construct 4.5 lakh Indiramma houses. Under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme, around 6.52 crore person-days of employment have been generated.
The Governor further said the Mahalakshmi scheme has facilitated 269 crore free bus trips for women, resulting in savings of ₹9,222 crore for them. Under the Gruhajyothi scheme, about 10.97 crore zero electricity bills have been issued to eligible households.

Kodangal Set to Emerge as Industrial Hub: Governor
BioAsia attracts ₹1,700 crore investments; IT exports touch ₹3.13 lakh crore as Telangana strengthens position as global tech and investment destination
Addressing the joint session of the State Legislature, the Governor said the 23rd edition of BioAsia attracted investments worth ₹1,700 crore, reflecting the growing interest of global investors in Telangana. He noted that the state has recorded exports worth ₹1.61 lakh crore, placing it seventh in the country.
Highlighting the role of the services sector, the Governor said it has recorded a growth of 13.5 per cent and contributes about 68.6 per cent to the state’s Gross Value Added (GVA). He added that Hyderabad has emerged as a global technology hub, hosting nearly 20 per cent of the world’s Global Capability Centres (GCCs).
The Governor further said Telangana continues to be a preferred destination for global investments. IT exports from the state have reached ₹3.13 lakh crore, while the IT sector currently provides employment to around 9.39 lakh people.
He also said the government has introduced the RARE model to promote growth and sustainability in the agriculture sector.

Bharat Rashtra Samithi MLAs, MLCs Attend Telangana Legislative Assembly Wearing Black Badges
Members of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), including MLAs and MLCs, attended the session of the Telangana Legislative Assembly wearing black badges as a mark of protest on Monday.
The legislators staged a symbolic protest demanding the implementation of the six guarantees and other promises made by the state government. Raising slogans, BRS leaders alleged that the government had failed to fulfil the assurances given to the people.
The protest took place during the ongoing Budget Session, drawing attention from members across the House. BRS leaders said they would continue to raise the issue inside and outside the Assembly until the government takes steps to implement the guarantees and commitments made to the public.
