Telangana Approves Gudemdoddi Reservoir Expansion in Wanaparthy

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has approved major expansion of Gudemdoddi reservoir in Wanaparthy with an integrated solar-pumped storage power project. An order to this effect was issued on Wednesday.
The storage capacity would be enhanced from 1.19 TMC to 15 TMC under the pumped storage project (PSP) model integrated with solar power generation. The government has sanctioned Rs.180 crore for comprehensive technical studies and land acquisition.
It gave administrative approval and sanction of Rs.165 crore for acquisition of 1100 acres of additional land in addition to Rs.15 crore to engage the services of a professional consultant for conducting necessary studies related to topography, geological, geotechnical, hydrological and bathymetric investigations, according to Secretary to Government, E Sridhar.( Source : Deccan Chronicle )
