Telangana Aims to Become South Asia’s Textile Hub by 2047: CM Revanth Reddy
At ATEXCON 2026, the Chief Minister invites global investors to partner in building a world-class textile ecosystem in the state.
Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday said the state aims to emerge as South Asia’s leading textile capital by 2047, calling on industrialists to partner in transforming the sector.
Speaking at the 13th Asian Textile Conference (ATEXCON 2026), jointly organised by the state government and the Confederation of Indian Textile Industry, the Chief Minister released the ATEXCON-2026 report and outlined the government’s long-term vision for the textile industry.
He highlighted Telangana’s rich textile heritage, noting that the sector is deeply rooted in the state’s culture and economy, with renowned products such as Pochampally Ikat, Gadwal sarees, Warangal durries, and Narayanpet handlooms. He emphasized that Telangana is one of the leading cotton producers in the country, known globally for its quality.
The Chief Minister said the government is developing world-class infrastructure, including the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park in Warangal, and is providing industry-friendly policies, quick clearances, and support in land, power, and water to attract investments.
Reiterating the vision of “Telangana Rising 2047,” he said the state aims to become a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He also stressed the importance of sustainability, announcing plans to develop green textile hubs and promote skill development, especially for women.
Inviting global investors, he said Telangana offers a strong ecosystem, skilled workforce, and a progressive policy framework, urging stakeholders to collaborate in building a globally competitive textile industry.
