Telangana Aims to Become No.1 in Country, World by 2047: Azharuddin

He said distribution of smart ration cards was beginning in the district, with 3,53,166 eligible beneficiaries set to receive the cards

KARIMNAGAR: Minority welfare minister Mohammad Azharuddin said the Congress government’s main aim was to develop Telangana into a number one State in the country and a leading State globally by 2047.

Participating in the 80th Independence Day celebrations in Jagtial on Saturday, Azharuddin said the goal would be pursued with inspiration from freedom fighters and under the vision of ‘Telangana Rising-2047’ led by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

He said distribution of smart ration cards was beginning in the district, with 3,53,166 eligible beneficiaries set to receive the cards. As many as 87,837 new members had been added to ration cards, while 48,868 new ration cards had been sanctioned, he said.

The government was providing pensions worth Rs.47 crore every month to 2.18 lakh beneficiaries under 11 categories, Azharuddin said. Distribution of new Cheyutha pensions began on August 15, he added.
