Telangana ACB Unearths Assets Worth Rs.39.16 Cr In DA Cases Of Govt. Staffers In 7 Months

The ACB has registered 148 cases from January to July 2025.

Hyderabad: Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) registered 22 cases in July 2025.

Of these, 13 were trap cases, one each disproportionate assets (DA), criminal misconduct and a regular enquiry and half a dozen surprise checks. Twenty public servants including two outsourcing employees and private persons were trapped and arrested and remanded to judicial custody. An amount of Rs.5.75 lakh was seized in trap cases of various departments, according to a statement.

In another case, disproportionate assets worth Rs.11.50 crore were unearthed. During surprise checks conducted on RTA check posts and sub-registrar offices, an unaccounted amount of Rs. 1.49 lakh was seized.

During the period from January to July 2025, the ACB has registered 148 cases. Of them, 93 were trap cases, nine DA assets cases, 15 criminal misconduct, 11 regular enquiries, 17 surprise checks and three discreet enquiries.

Around 145 public servants including 10 private employees were trapped and arrested, and remanded to judicial custody. An amount of Rs.30.32 lakh were seized in trap cases and unearthed assets worth Rs.39.16 crore in DA cases of various departments.

In July, the ACB finalized 21 cases and sent final reports to the State government. It finalized 151 cases during the period from January 2025 to July 2025 and sent reports to the government.

The ACB Director General, Vijay Kumar, conducted a half yearly crime review meeting on July 23 and reviewed the long pending cases. He instructed the Investigating Officers (IOs) to speed up the investigation and submit the reports to head office. He also appreciated all the officers for their good work. To create awareness among people to call 1064 to report corruption, posters and stickers were being displayed at public places, especially in rural areas.

In a separate case, the ACB arrested Bala Subramanyam, a Revenue Inspector at Bhoothpur Mandal in Mahabubnagar, when he demanded and accepted the bribe Rs.4,000 from a complainant for showing official favour to verify ‘Kalyana Laxmi’ application of elder sister of the complainant.
