Telangana: 4 Arrested with Rs.7 Lakh Hash Oil

Hyderabad: East Zone Task Force along with Afzalgunj police arrested two peddlers and three consumers and seized 1,350 grams of hash oil worth ₹7 lakh. Peddlers Keshaboina Sanjay Kumar, 31, Abba Naganna, 25, and consumers K. Mahesh, 31, Shaik Irfan, 35, and K. Lokesh, 19, are all residents of Gajularamaram at Quthbullapur in Medchal.

Both were procuring hash oil in bulk through their known persons (presently absconding) and packing the drugs into small plastic boxes containing five grams each and started selling them at ₹500 per gram.
Keshaboina Sanjay and Abba Naganna informed their customers K. Mahesh, Shaik Irfan and K. Lokesh to come to CBS at Gowliguda in Hyderabad to collect the hash oil when they were arrested, U. Chandra Shekar, SHO Afzalgunj police station, said.
Electrical Contractor Dies by Suicide
Hyderabad: A 55-year-old electrical contractor died by suicide allegedly due to financial distress in Narsingi on Wednesday.
According to Narsingi police, the deceased, M.B. Ramulu, a resident of Ramdevguda in Golconda mandal, had been facing severe debt-related stress. On Tuesday morning, he reportedly argued with his wife, Uma Rani, 49, and left home in a disturbed state.
The next morning, around 8 a.m., Uma Rani received a call from the police saying that her husband had been found hanging from a tree near Gopalaswamy temple in Manchirevula village. She then rushed to the police station and lodged a complaint.
Preliminary investigation suggests that Ramulu took the extreme step due to mounting debts and mental distress. A case has been registered and Ramulu’s body was shifted to the Osmania mortuary for post-mortem. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
Auto Driver Held for Assaulting Minor
Hyderabad: An autorickshaw driver was arrested for kidnapping and attempting to sexually assault an 11-year-old girl at Mir Chowk on Tuesday night. The accused, Syed Shabbir, 36, of Murtuzanagar in Rein Bazar, intercepted the Class 5 student while she was walking home and told her that her father had sent him to pick her up. Trusting him, the girl got into the vehicle.
Police said Shabbir, who had been following the girl for a week, later drove towards Malakpet and tried to molest her after dropping off another schoolboy he had given a lift to. The girl managed to jump out of the moving vehicle and started screaming. Locals caught the driver and handed him over to the police.
Mir Chowk SHO B. Suresh Kumar said Shabbir confessed to the offence. He has been booked under the POCSO Act, Section 137(1)(b) of the BNS and sent to judicial remand.
DGC Releases ₹21 Lakh Seized Cash
Hyderabad: Since the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into effect for the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency by-election, the District Grievance Committee (DGC) has processed five cases of cash seizure and released over ₹21 lakh after due verification.
The committee conducts hearings on the third floor of the GHMC head office to verify the genuineness of claims and expedite the release of legitimately seized cash and articles.
The DGC is ensuring that genuine cases are resolved within one to two days, minimising inconvenience to the public, the Hyderabad Election Authority said in a statement.
Ahead of the Jubilee Hills by-election, the Hyderabad District Election Authority also issued an official notification imposing a ban on the conduct and publication of exit polls.
District Election Officer (DEO) and GHMC Commissioner R.V. Karnan urged media houses, political parties, digital influencers, and all stakeholders to strictly adhere to these statutory provisions to uphold the sanctity of the electoral process and ensure free, fair, and transparent elections.
Woman Raped, Robbed in Moving Train
Hyderabad: A woman passenger was raped and robbed at knifepoint inside a ladies’ coach of the Santragachi Special Express while the train was moving between Guntur and Pedakurapadu on Saturday night.
Police said an unidentified man, aged around 40, forcibly entered the ladies’ coach after the train halted at Guntur around 7.53 p.m. The woman, who was travelling alone, tried to stop him and lock the door from inside. However, he convinced her to open the door. Once inside, he pushed her in, locked the coach, and threatened her with a knife.
The accused assaulted and raped the victim and later robbed her handbag containing ₹5,600 and a mobile phone. As the train slowed down near Pedakurapadu, he jumped off and escaped.
The victim, a native of Andhra Pradesh, was on her way to Hyderabad to work as a domestic help. She continued her journey up to Charlapally and approached the railway police at Secunderabad, where her statement was recorded.
A zero FIR was registered and later transferred to Nadikudi police station in Andhra Pradesh for investigation. The victim was sent for medical examination in the presence of a woman police officer.
Railway police teams have launched a search for the accused, who was described as short, stout, wearing a black shirt and grey trousers, and carrying a bag.
