Telangana: 129 Kg Ganja Seized, 2 Arrested In Warangal

WARANGAL: Warangal Narcotics Police Station (EAGLE Force) officials seized 129.334 kg of ganja, valued at ₹64.66 lakh, and arrested two persons during a vehicle check at Wardhannapet on Sunday.
Police intercepted a car travelling from Khammam towards Warangal at around 5.50 pm and found 61 packets of ganja concealed in the rear portion of the vehicle.
The arrested persons were identified as Kerala natives Sayuj C.S., 33, and Besalel C. Mathew, 38, who were reportedly working as drivers. Police also seized the car, two mobile phones and ₹2,900 in cash.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the accused had allegedly procured ganja from the Chitrakonda and Darakonda areas of Odisha and were transporting it through Rajamahendravaram and Warangal to Bengaluru. From there, it was allegedly to be taken to Kerala for sale, police said.
Two other accused, identified as Ajith and Vicky, are absconding. Special teams have been formed to trace them.
A case has been registered under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. The arrested persons were being produced before a court for remand.
