One Of Gang Held For Stealing 18 kg Gold From Jeweller

Efforts are underway to recover the stolen gold from the arrested suspect, but extracting information from him has proven challenging.

Nalgonda: Suryapet police have reportedly arrested one member of a gang that looted 18 kg of gold from Sai Santhoshi Jewellers in Suryapet on July 20, near the India-Nepal border. The remaining four members reportedly escaped the police who managed to gather their details

The police also detained a person from Khammam based on call data records linked to the mobile phones used by the thieves. During questioning, the individual claimed he was unaware of the suspects's criminal background and had not been in contact with him for the past year.

Efforts are underway to recover the stolen gold from the arrested suspect, but extracting information from him has proven challenging, police said.

It has come to light that the gang had rented a house near the jewellery shop and had been residing there for the past two months. Superintendent of police K. Narsimha was personally overseeing the investigation.
