TCA Plans 10 Cricket Excellence Centres

Association seeks BCCI membership, slams HCA over corruption and non-compliance

Warangal: Representative of the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA), Dharma Gurva Reddy, announced a new initiative to establish 10 ‘Centres of Excellence’ for cricket across Telangana at the Telangana Cricketers’ Meet held at the IMA Hall in Warangal on Sunday.

Speaking at the meeting, Gurva Reddy criticised the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA), alleging that it is deeply mired in corruption and stressing the need for strict action against those involved.

He said the HCA had failed to comply with directives issued by the BCCI in July 2021 and had not finalised discussions held between the two associations in March 2025, as mandated by the Bombay High Court.

The TCA is now seeking direct membership with the BCCI, moving beyond its earlier demand for collaboration with the HCA. The association also urged all political parties and public representatives to set aside their differences and work together to help the TCA secure official recognition, he added.

The meeting was organised under the leadership of TCA state treasurer Dr P. Vijaychander Reddy and coordinated by Warangal district secretary T. Jaypal. Members and cricketers present at the event unanimously passed a resolution in support of the TCA’s demands.
