Task Force Police Seized China Manja Worth Rs.2 Lakhs in Hanamkonda
The sale and use of China manja are banned as the glass-coated nylon thread poses a serious threat to birds, animals and humans, often causing severe injuries and fatalities, especially to two-wheeler riders.

Warangal: Task force police arrested one person and seized ‘Chinese manja’, synthetic thread for flying kites, worth Rs 2 lakh in Hanamkonda.
According to task force ACP A. Madhusudhan, a police team led by inspector G. Babulal raided a shop in Pala Jenda area of Kumarpally and police arrested 55-year old Nanu Anand, and seized 65 large bundles of ‘Chinese manja’ and 165 individual packets worth Rs 2.03 lakh.
The use and sale of synthetic or Chinese manja are strictly prohibited because the glass-coated or nylon threads pose a deadly threat to birds, animals and humans.
The task force team handed over the accused and seized stock to the Hanamkonda police for action. Police have warned traders of strict action if they sell the banned thread.
