Hyderabad: A recent inspection by the task force team on February 1st, 2025, at Posh Nosh Lounge & Bar, located on Road No. 36 in Jubilee Hills, uncovered several serious violations. The establishment was found to be operating with an expired license, which had lapsed on December 20, 2024. Furthermore, the lounge failed to provide key documents such as water analysis reports, pest control records, FSSAI training (FOSTAC) certificates, and medical records of employees.
In addition to the expired license, the inspection revealed a number of concerning issues in the kitchen and food storage areas. Refrigerators were found to be improperly defrosted and cleaned. The kitchen floor lacked proper drainage to remove food waste, and there was an opening to the outside without a window or insect-proof screen, which posed a health risk.
The inspection also found food storage problems, with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items stored together. Many food products were found on the ground, further raising concerns about sanitation. Expired and misbranded food items, including Sichuan Pepper from Bangkok with no importer details, were seized by the authorities. Additionally, packed citric acid (1kg), intended only for industrial use, was discovered in the storage.
Several expired food items were found, including soy sauce (1L - Sep 2024), papad packets (18), rasam powder (1kg - Jul 2024), onion powder (Oct 2024), kajun mix (Dec 2024), mushroom (800g), and packed methi (2kg), which were discarded on the spot. Lastly, loose split cashew nuts were found to be infested with insects, making them unsafe for consumption.
The task force has issued a warning to the establishment, urging them to address these issues immediately, particularly the expired license and food safety concerns.
