Tabernacles Band Celebrates 57 Glorious Years of Musical Highs
Hyderabad: The 57 years milestone of Tabernacles, one of the celebrated musicians from the city, presented an excited evening for music lovers at an open air concert that boasted of vocalists, dozens of violins and brass instruments.
Gloria, who played the trumpet and Samuel David on the piano stood out.
The Tabernacles, an English classical music group, collaborated with Chennai’s Genesis chambers, a renowned group in India, known for their best of music.
The event got off with a scintillating performance by young musicians from YFC children called the Little Rock’s. The ‘O holy night’ rendition by Chang from Pune, marked the culmination while everyone held candles.
Zubin Gibson, the conductor, thanked all the musicians and voices, especially those who have been with the group for the past 57 years. Incidentally, the group’s foundation was laid on December 2, 1967, when nine youngsters who were having chai at a hotel in Secunderabad, floated and firmed up the idea of forming a band.
Vijay Theophilus, secretary of the group, was felicitated on the occasion.
