Hyderabad: The women safety wing of the state police marked a significant milestone on public safety on Wednesday with T-Safe's integrations with Uber SOS and Safe Gaadi.
Director General (WSF) Shikha Goel said with the launch, Telangana became the first state in the country to embed citizen-initiated and police-led ride monitoring on the public and private transport platforms.
The T-Safe annual success meet held at the concourse level of Ameerpet Metro Station on Wednesday featured a live demonstration of the integrated services aimed at enhancing proactive police response during women’s transit.
Balakrishna, security manager, HMRL Hyderabad, Sriharish, CEO, Krishana Digital Technologies, Harshini, operations head - South India, Uber, Ramesh Reddy, founder, Safegaadi.com and Parimala Hana Nuthan, DIG. Director-ICCC attended the event.
By integrating with Uber and Safegaad, customers will now be able to access T-Safe through their app/QR codes Uber SOS. When a rider taps SOS in the Uber app, Telangana Police instantly receives the location and the ride details, triggering emergency intervention by local police, Shikha said. Safe Gaadi also offers QR-based vehicle and driver verification, ideal for users without the app, making T-Sate's services accessible to more people.
"This is a leap forward in our mission to make every ride safe," said Shikha Goel. "With Uber SOS and Safegaadi integrations, T-Safe ensures real-time alerts and swift police response, a shift from reactive safety to proactive intervention," she added.
Posters and videos on T-Sate were released as part of the awareness drive. Several women who had utilised the T-Safe service shared their experience.
The woman and safety wing urged all commuters especially women to use the T-Safe service as it was digitally inclusive, easy to use and helped in
ensuring a stress-free ride monitored by the police.
