T-Mobile US Setting Up Global Tech Hub in Hyderabad; to Add 300 Jobs by January
US telecom giant to launch innovation centre with 300 tech professionals by January 2026.

Hyderabad: T-Mobile US (TMUS), one of the key telecom companies in the United States, is setting up its first global technology hub in Hyderabad. The facility will function under T-Mobile Global Solutions India, and mark a major expansion of the company’s technology and innovation footprint outside the US.
The Hyderabad centre will begin operations with about 300 professionals by January 2026, with plans to expand over the next few years.
In a telephonic interview with Deccan Chronicle, Chandra Gupta, vice-president, information technology, and site leader, said Hyderabad was chosen for its strong talent pool, robust infrastructure, and supportive policy environment. “Hyderabad has emerged as one of the most reliable global technology destinations, and we see it as a strategic fit for our long-term plans,” he said.
The hub will focus on technology areas such as software engineering, DevOps, product development, data analytics, and cybersecurity. T-Mobile describes the Hyderabad unit as a technology innovation hub, signalling the company’s intent to drive high-end technology development from India.
The focus, Chandra added, will be on building digital products that improve customer experience and operational efficiency across T-Mobile’s global network.
Hiring for the Hyderabad operation was underway, with the company expecting to complete onboarding by December-January. The initial focus will be on bringing in experienced technologists who can lead product innovation and global collaboration. Over time, the centre will expand into other functions such as human resources, finance, and cybersecurity.
The company did not disclose investment figures. “Hyderabad initiative represents a long-term investment in talent and capability building rather than infrastructure alone. Our vision is to make Hyderabad a key node in T-Mobile’s global innovation network,” Chandra said.
The move of TMUS adds to Hyderabad’s growing stature as a global tech hub, already home to several multinational innovation and development centres.
