Swift Action Of Cops Rescues Minor Sold To Brothel By Arresting Eight Persons

HYDERABAD: Tolichowki police within 24 hours of receiving a complaint arrested eight persons of an alleged gang of human traffickers who had kidnapped a minor girl and forced her into prostitition.

According to police, the minor was kidnapped on September 9 by one of the accused Shaik Atif in his autorickshaw from Tolichowki. He handed over the girl to two other accused, Sana and Samreen Begum at Tolichowki, said Golconda ACP Syed Faiz, who oversaw the investigation.

The two women allegedly sold the victim for `30,000 to brothel organiser Sabiya Begum in Attapur, Faiz said. The amount was shared by the trio. Later Sabiya Begum forced the victim into prostitution, the ACP said. The accused Md. Nadeem, Md. Kaifuddin and Ali Bin Akram acted as pimps.

On October 5 the victim managed to escape from the brothel and returned home and narrated the atrocities she suffered, police disclosed. Her parents lodged a complaint with the police.

Women police personnel counselled the victim, when she, along with her parents approached the police on Friday. Her statement was recorded and the same night police arrested the accused.
