Suresh Reddy Questions Abrupt Ceasefire

Nizamabad: BRS Parliamentary Party leader K.R. Suresh Reddy questioned why the ceasefire was declared abruptly when, according to him, Indian armed forces were dismantling terror networks and striking at Pakistani air bases. He spoke for 16 minutes in Parliament on Wednesday during the debate on Operation Sindoor. The US President Donald Trump’s tweet, “stop the war or no trade”, was “humiliating to Indian patriotic fervour,” he said.
He added that Pakistan is a failed state whose political and military leadership is corrupt, which is why it targets Kashmir. Successive Governments of India have taken positive steps for Kashmir, through administrative and financial “connects”, but the emotional connect still needs strengthening, the BRS Rajya Sabha member said.
Suresh Reddy argued that traditional diplomatic missions have not been fully successful and urged the use of parliamentary diplomacy, whose reach he said is broader and less restricted. He also contended that some in the West view the conflict as one between a Hindu state and a Muslim state, whereas it should be understood as a contest between a secular state and a terror state.
