The move aims to bring greater accountability and efficiency in managing temple resources and activities.

At a review meeting with senior endowments officials, the minister assessed the progress of ongoing digitisation efforts and inquired about the status of temples yet to adopt digital systems. She instructed officials to expedite the process and ensure that even the remote temples were brought under the digital framework.

The meeting primarily focused on fast-tracking the state-wide digitisation of temples to enhance transparency, improve services for devotees and streamline temple administration. Konda Surekha directed the department to prepare a detailed action plan with clear timelines and defined responsibilities. She stressed the importance of training temple staff and priests in the use of digital systems to ensure a smooth and effective transition.

Surekha also sought a detailed report on temple land holdings and instructed officials to ensure proper protection, utilisation and documentation of temple properties. Emphasising the need to resolve court cases related to temple lands and assets at the earliest, she asked the legal wing of the department to take proactive steps and suggested holding a dedicated meeting soon to discuss legal strategies.

Endowments principal secretary Sailaja Ramaiyer, commissioner Sridhar, additional commissioner Krishnaveni and other senior officials attended the meeting.
