Summer Holidays: Yadagirigutta Temple Witnesses Heavy Rush
Most devotees came to the temple in TGSRTC buses, while others thronged in their cars

Hyderabad: The famous Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Vari Devasthanam in Yadagirigutta witnessed heavy rush on Sunday prompting devotees to wait for over three hours to have free darshan.
Being a holiday on Sunday for everyone followed by summer vacation for children, a large number of devotees thronged the temple to have blessings of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy. While a majority of devotees came to the temple in TGSRTC buses, others thronged there in their cars.
As it is 60 kms from the city, the flow of devotees visiting the temple is high on Sundays and other public holidays, temple officials said. Every day not less than 10,000 to 15,000 devotees would visit the temple on an average for offering their vows and performing ‘saswata pujas’, ‘kalyanam’, ‘lakshatulasi pujas’, ‘abhisekam’ and ‘satynarayana swamy’ puja.
But on Sunday, the turnout was double compared to the normal days forcing the officials of Endowments departments to deploy additional staff and the police to ensure proper queue system and hassle-free darshan for devotees.
The rush was also unprecedented at the counters selling ‘prasadam’. The Rachakonda police, under whose jurisdiction the temple comes, monitored the flow of devotees using surveillance cameras installed at all the strategic locations at the temple. Separate police personnel were also deployed at the parking places to regulate traffic and avoid gridlocks.
