Tension erupts as a local man attacks an official demanding illegal cancellation of property records.
Hyderabad: Tension gripped the Pedda Amberpet sub-registrar’s office on Monday after a local resident assaulted sub-registrar Ravinder Naik during a dispute over property document cancellations. Hayatnagar police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
According to authorities, at approximately 12.45 pm, Pilli Srinivas of Pedda Amberpet entered the sub-registrar’s office carrying three property documents. He demanded the immediate cancellation of two documents registered in January. Sub-registrar Naik explained that he lacked the authority to revoke registered documents and advised Srinivas to seek a court order under the Registration Act for any cancellations.
Angered by this response, Srinivas allegedly obstructed official duties and slapped Naik multiple times in full view of staff and visitors. Office personnel intervened promptly and escorted Srinivas off the premises before the situation escalated further.
Following the attack, sub-registrar Naik lodged a formal complaint with Hayatnagar police, who have recorded the assault and opened a probe into the incident. No arrests have been made yet.
