Sub-Inspector Booked for Letting 6-Year-Old Granddaughter Drive Car in Narsingi

The Narsingi police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which the child was allowed to drive the vehicle

A sub-inspector was booked for allowing his six-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter to drive his car on a public road in Narsingi. His name is being withheld to protect the minor’s identity. According to the police, the incident occurred on the Gandhamguda–Bairagiguda Road.

Following the incident, the Narsingi police registered a case against the sub-inspector under the BNS for rash and negligent act that endangers life and safety along with provisions of the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act against permitting an unauthorised person to drive and dangerous driving-related violations.

The vehicle owner had six pending traffic challans with fines totalling ₹4,010. The violations included three instances of overspeeding, one stop-line violation, one lane-crossing offence and one case of stopping in a prohibited area. The pending violations were recorded between May 2020 and October 2024 across Hyderabad and Mahbubnagar districts.

The Narsingi police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances under which the child was allowed to drive the vehicle. Action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation, police said.

Labourer found dead

A 19‑year‑old labourer from Uttar Pradesh dead near Peddatoopra under Shamshabad police limits on Saturday. Police suspect online gaming addiction and financial losses may have driven him to suicide.

The deceased, Himanshu Babu, son of Rajkumar, had been working at a private company at Thimmapur for four months and was staying in the company’s quarters. According to a complaint lodged by co‑worker Manjit Kumar, Himanshu left his room in the morning after informing his roommate Naveen Kumar that he was going to Kothur to buy a mobile phone.

When he did not return, his roommates Yogesh and Abhishek searched for him and found his body. Police who were called to the spot said they had booked a case of unnatural death.

Unidentified man murdered in Vanasthalipuram

An unidentified man aged between 50 and 55 years was found murdered near a theatre, Vanasthalipuram police said on Sunday morning. Police said the body was discovered around 7 am. A bleeding injury on the back of the head indicated he was assaulted before death.

The deceased was about 5.5 feet tall, wheatish in complexion, with a white beard. No identity documents were found. Forensic and Clues teams inspected the scene and collected evidence. The body was shifted to a government hospital for post‑mortem. Police registered a murder case and launched an investigation to identify the victim and trace the culprits. CCTV footage from nearby areas is being examined and locals questioned in this regard.

Two arrested for auto thefts in Uppal

Uppal police arrested two habitual offenders involved in a series of auto‑rickshaw thefts and recovered six stolen vehicles worth about ₹4 lakh.

The accused were identified as K. Akshay, 20, of Secunderabad, and Mohammed Faizan Qureshi, 21, of Nizamabad district. Police said Akshay identified unattended vehicles parked on roadsides and informed Faizan, who then stole them. The duo altered the vehicles’ appearance before disposing of them.

Based on credible information, police apprehended the accused near Uppal Gandhi Statue on Saturday evening while they were moving with stolen vehicles. Six auto‑rickshaws were seized. A case under BNS Section 305(b) was registered. Senior officials appreciated the investigation team for tracing the vehicles and arresting the accused.

Businessman Booked After Speeding BMW Climbs Road Divider Near KBR Park

A 40-year-old businessman was booked after his BMW X4 climbed on to a road divider near the main gate of KBR Park early on Sunday. No injuries were reported in the incident. Police ruled out drunk driving after conducting a breathalyser test on the driver, Imran Ali, immediately after the accident.

Police said the accident occurred while Ali was taking a U-turn from NTR Bhavan towards the Jubilee Hills checkpost at high speed. The driver lost control, causing the vehicle to climb on to the road divider. Police reached the spot within 10 minutes of receiving information.

The damaged vehicle was later removed from the road to restore traffic movement. Police said the vehicle had been purchased within the last month. Police booked A case has been registered against Imran Ali under the BNS for dangerous driving and relevant provisions relating to damage to public property. Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident and are examining whether overspeeding was the primary cause.

Kushaiguda Police Arrest Man Under POCSO Act After Two Minor Girls Go Missing


Kushaiguda police arrested a 24-year-old man under the Pocso Act in connection with a case where two girl students had gone missing.

According to the police, the matter came to light when a complainant approached the police station on the night of July 1. The complainant stated that college authorities informed them that their daughter, an Intermediate second-year student, had failed to attend classes. Despite searching nearby areas and questioning friends, the family could not find her.

Further inquiries revealed that another minor girl from the same extended family was also missing. Simultaneously, their relative failed to return home from work, and his mobile phone was switched off. The family discovered the relative’s motorcycle parked behind a junior college in Kushaiguda. All names are being withheld to avoid identifying the minors.

Initially, a missing case was registered under the BNS. Kushaiguda police swung into action, tracking the suspect’s mobile phone location data. Upon safely locating the minor girls, police recorded their statements. Based on their testimonies, which revealed that the accused had lured them, the police altered case to the Pocso Act, arrested the relative and produced him before a court for judicial remand.

Uppal Police Arrest Two Men, Recover Six Stolen Autorickshaws Worth ₹4 Lakh


Uppal police arrested two persons for alleged theft of autorickshaws and recovered six stolen vehicles worth approximately `4 lakh from their possession. Police said the accused, K. Akshay, of CTC, Secunderabad, and Mohammed Faizan Qureshi, of Koti Galli, Muntang, Nizamabad district, had allegedly stolen parked autorickshaws from various locations across Hyderabad and its outskirts.

According to investigators, Akshay would identify unattended vehicles parked on the roadside and inform Faizan. The duo would then steal the vehicles, transport them to different locations and alter their appearance before disposing them of. During questioning, they reportedly confessed to stealing six vehicles.

Based on credible information, Uppal police apprehended the accused on Saturday evening in Uppal while they were moving with stolen vehicles. The police seized all six stolen autorickshaws.

Saidabad Resident Dies After Bike Skids and Hits Cement Block on NH-44

A 32-year-old private company employee died after his motorcycle skidded and rammed into a roadside cement block on NH-44 near Palmakula on Saturday afternoon. Shamshabad police identified the victim as Uaradi Balakrishna, a resident of Lokayuktha Colony in Saidabad.

According to the complaint lodged by his younger brother, Balakrishna had travelled to his native village of Gundlapotlapally in Mahabubnagar district on Saturday to attend a family function. On Sunday, he left the village around 2 pm on his motorcycle to return to Saidabad.

Police said the accident occurred at around 3.30 pm near a dhaba on NH-44. The victim's family was informed about the accident around 4 pm, following which his brother rushed to the scene and found him lying dead on the road.

Wife of Charminar ACP Dies by Alleged Suicide in Alwal


Hemalatha, the wife of Charminar ACP Chandrashekar, died allegedly by suicide at their house in Brindavan Colony under the Alwal police limits on Sunday. Police said no note was found, and the reason behind the alleged suicide was being ascertained.

ACP Chandrasekhar was at his office and his wife did not respond to repeated phone calls. He asked his son, who lives in the same building, to check on her. Police said that when the son reached the house, there was no response despite his repeatedly knocking on the door. The family broke open the door and found Hemalatha’s body and alerted the police.

Alwal police rushed to the spot, conducted a preliminary examination and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for postmortem examination. Police registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances and commenced investigations.
