Students, Youth Take New Year Pledge to Clean Municipal Park

More than 15 students participated in a cleanliness drive at the park on Thursday, using brooms and clearing overgrown bushes

Nalgonda: Under the aegis of the Maharana Pratap Youth Association, students of Ravindra Nagar Colony in Nalgonda have taken a New Year resolution to devote one hour on holidays to clean the Maharana Municipal Park in their locality.

More than 15 students participated in a cleanliness drive at the park on Thursday, using brooms and clearing overgrown bushes.

A Class IV student, Marva Vedanth, said unhygienic conditions and thick vegetation in the park had made it difficult for children to play during their leisure time. He said the students decided to use their holidays to help maintain cleanliness and make the park usable again.

Maharana Pratap Youth Association president Sama Madhusudan said the association motivated students to take up the initiative and would extend full support to youth participating in the drive. He noted that the open gym installed in the park remained unused due to the unhygienic surroundings.

He added that the association would soon provide sports kits for students to encourage outdoor activities, as the park currently lacks adequate tree cover.
