Student organisations blocked the KU gate in Hanamkonda, demanding action over the alleged NEET paper leak and protesting the police action against students in Delhi.
Student organisations staged a road blockade in front of the second gate of Kakatiya University on Friday, protesting the alleged lathicharge on students demonstrating at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi over the NEET paper leak issue. The protesters demanded the resignation of Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan, holding him responsible for the controversy.
The protest was organised by the SSEU, ABSF, MSF, BSF and PDSU. Raising slogans against the Centre, the student leaders condemned the police action against protesters and called for accountability in the handling of the NEET paper leak.
Addressing the gathering, SSEU Hanamkonda district president Elthuri Sai Kumar said the Union education minister should accept moral responsibility for the alleged irregularities in the NEET examination and step down from his post.
Meanwhile, the statewide educational institutions bandh called by Left‑affiliated student organisations received a positive response across the erstwhile Warangal district. As part of the bandh, PDSU activists staged another road blockade at Ashoka Junction in Hanamkonda.
PDSU district leaders Marri Mahesh and Boyinapalli Ajay condemned the alleged lathi‑charge on students, describing it as undemocratic. They demanded that the Union Government take responsibility for the NEET paper leak and respond to the concerns of students across the country.
