Student Dies by Suicide in Government BC Hostel for Women

Police identified the victim as Burra Shruthi, 20, a final year student of the Nagarjuna Degree College.

Nalgonda:A girl student died by suicide in the bathroom of the government BC(E) hostel at Ravindranagar here on Tuesday morning. Police identified the victim as Burra Shruthi, 20, a final year student of the Nagarjuna Degree College. Her classmates reportedly informed the police that Shruthi had shared with them that her parents had decided to perform her marriage and were search for a bridegroom, but she was not interested.

According to the police, Shruthi went into the bathroom for a bath at 8 am. When she didn’t come out for even after half an hour, the students and staff broke open the door of the bathroom and found her body. Getting the information, Nalgonda Town-II police rushed to the hostel and shifted the body of Shruthi to mortuary of Government General Hospital at Nalgonda for autopsy. She was daughter of Narsimha and Ramulamma, natives of Kattala of Marriguda mandal in the district.

GHMC Invites Public Objections on Delimitation of 300 Wards

Hyderabad:The GHMC on Tuesday issued a preliminary notification on the delimitation of 300 wards, inviting objections and suggestions from residents. The notification, published in the Telangana Gazette, marks the first major restructuring exercise ahead of the upcoming GHMC elections.

Citizens can submit objections or suggestions within seven days from the date of notification. Written representations must be addressed to the GHMC Commissioner at the headquarters in Tank Bund.

According to the draft, several wards have undergone boundary modifications to balance population density and improve administrative efficiency.

For instance, Ward No. 12–Nacharam, Ward No. 44–Chandanagar, Ward No. 98–Jubilee Hills, Ward No. 132–Malakpet, and Ward No. 201–Rajendranagar have seen either expansion, merging of neighbourhood pockets, or redrawing of borders.

Officials said the reorganisation was carried out based on the 2011 Census, projected population growth, and urban expansion. The proposed map includes new residential layouts and previously unincorporated colonies, which have now been brought under GHMC limits.

RTC set to add 65 electric buses

Hyderabad:The TSRTC is all set to add 65 electric buses to its fleet on Wednesday, flagged off by Union minister G. Kishan Reddy and state transport minister Ponnam Prabhakar. The event, also featuring, TGSRTC managing director Y. Nagi Reddy, is scheduled to be held at the corporation’s Ranigunj depot.

The TGSRTC is running electric buses across several routes in the city. The initiative of introducing more e-buses is aimed at reducing the rising pollution levels and providing clean, efficient, and sustainable transport options to commuters.

Kavitha Again Hits Out at KTR, Harish

Hyderabad:Former BRS leader K. Kavitha who has been at loggerheads with leadership of the party, on Tuesday again appeared to take aim at her one-time colleagues T. Harish Rao and K.T. Rama Rao, questioning why Vijay Divas and Deeksha Divas were being celebrated after the party lost power in the state.

In a brief post in her X handle, Kavitha said “Vijay Divas and Deeksha Divas after losing power. This is the land of struggles and movements. People are watching everything.”

While Rama Rao led the November 29 Deeksha Divas marking the day when BRS chief K.

Chandrashekar Rao launched his fast unto death for statehood, on Tuesday, Vijay Divas marking the announcement of statehood, was led by Harish Rao.

Sonia Gandhi’s birthday celebrated in Kamareddy

Kamareddy:Telangana Congress youth leader Mohammad Ilias and Kamareddy town president Pandlla Raju organised a grand celebration on occasion of former UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi’s birthday at the District Congress office here on Tuesday.

They cut a cake and distributed it among those present at the district office for the celebrations. Local leaders and party workers participated in large numbers in the event.

Speaking on the occasion, Ilias said Sonia Gandhi’s leadership is essential for the country to retain its democratic values.

“We extend our heartfelt birthday wishes to her and reaffirm our commitment to follow in her footsteps,” Ilias declared.

On the occasion, Congress workers also distributed clothes and fruits among the poor on behalf of the party.
