Streams, Rivulets Swell in Adilabad, Road Links Disrupted After Heavy Rain
Officials warn of dangers and prepare relief as floodwaters rise

Adilabad: Heavy rain over the past two days has swollen streams and rivulets across the erstwhile Adilabad district, disrupting road links to several interior villages and prompting a safety alert from officials.
Gram panchayat and mandal officers have been instructed to monitor low-lying crossings and caution residents against wading through fast-moving water. A temporary roadway over the Gundi Vagu in Asifabad mandal was washed away early on Friday, renewing local demands for a permanent bridge.
Flood-mixed drainage has entered parts of Ichoda town, while road connectivity remains partially cut to villages in Asifabad, Kerameri and Wankidi mandals. District authorities are mapping isolated habitations and have asked the civil supplies department to deliver a three-month stock of rations in advance.
Revenue, irrigation and rural water supply officials are holding mandal-level reviews to assess damage and prepare further relief measures. Rain inflows have also begun to raise levels at the Komaram Bheem Asifabad project reservoir.
